Kill Dull respects the privacy of the people who visit the site, contact us and bring decisions to the BENCH.

Information we receive

We receive information when you contact Kill Dull or work with us directly.

This site has no accounts. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics unless you accept them. Your browser remembers locally, for 24 hours, whether the opening animation has played; nothing about it is sent to us. The contact form sends us only what you choose to enter — your name, company, email address and message — by email; the site does not store it. Standard request information, such as IP address and browser type, is processed by our hosting provider in the course of serving the site.

Notify me when the BENCH opens. If you ask to be told when the BENCH opens, we store the email address you enter and the date you entered it — nothing else. We use it only to confirm your signup and to tell you when the BENCH opens. It is not shared for anyone else’s use and it is not sold. We keep it until you ask us to remove it or we no longer need it for that purpose. Signing up sets no cookie and does not depend on accepting analytics.

Cookies and analytics

Analytics are off unless you accept them. Decline and nothing is collected: no cookie is set, and no record of your visit is made.

If you accept, one first-party cookie lets us tell one visit from another. We record which pages are read, roughly how long for and how far down, where the visit arrived from, and the deliberate actions the site offers — sending the contact form, opening a READING, taking the Marketing Judgment Test, following a link out. We do not record what you type. What you write in the contact form is never analytics data.

As the page is served, your IP address is used once to establish the network the visit came from and the approximate city. It is used for that lookup and discarded. It is not stored, not written to any log of ours, and never sent to the analytics service.

That can tell us an organization, or that a visit came from a home connection, a mobile network or a VPN. It does not tell us who you are. We do not identify individual people and we do not try to work one out from a company, a network or a location. Where the organization is genuinely identified, the record still says the individual is unknown; most visits are simply recorded as anonymous.

If you accept analytics, we record that Ask Kill Dull was opened and which suggested question was chosen. What you type, and the answers, are never recorded.

You can change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the foot of any page.

What we use it for

We use information to respond to inquiries, provide requested services, tell you when the BENCH opens if you asked us to, and maintain security.

We don’t sell personal information.

The Marketing Judgment Test

The Marketing Judgment Test runs in your browser. Your answers and your READING are stored on your own device and are not transmitted to Kill Dull. There is no account, no sign-up, and no email address is required to complete it or to see your READING.

If you accept analytics, four things about the Test are recorded: that it was begun, that it was completed, and that a READING was downloaded or emailed. Your answers, your READING and its verdict are never sent — not to us, and not to the analytics service. If you decline, none of the four is recorded either.

Email my READING opens your own email application with the READING already written into the message. The address you type stays in your browser and is not collected. Talk to us carries a summary of your READING into the contact form as a draft you can edit or delete; nothing reaches us unless you send the form.

You can remove the stored READING from your device at any time using Forget this READING on the Test page.

Ask Kill Dull

Every question you ask here, including the suggested ones, is sent to Anthropic, whose AI writes the answer from what this site publishes. It goes with the conversation so far, so that a follow-up makes sense. We don’t send your IP address or analytics data with the conversation. Anthropic does not use it to train its models.

We don’t keep the conversation. It lives in the page, and it is gone when you leave or reload. Please don’t type anything personal or confidential.

To stop abuse, each question is counted against a one-way, scrambled form of your IP address, kept for no more than a day. The address itself is not stored.

The BENCH

Information brought to the BENCH is treated as confidential. Material provided for a private engagement is not published without permission. We do not use confidential client material to train public AI models.

Where third-party services assist that work, information is shared only as necessary to provide the service.

Service providers

The public site is served by Vercel, which hosts it and delivers it. Google carries the contact form to us through our own Workspace mailbox, and so receives what you wrote in it. It also sends the BENCH signup confirmation from that mailbox. Anthropic receives questions sent from Ask Kill Dull, with the conversation so far, to write the answers. It does not use them to train its models. Upstash stores the BENCH notification list for us.

If you accept analytics, two further services are involved. PostHog stores the events, on servers in the European Union. Ipregistry resolves the request’s network to an organization and an approximate city, and receives the IP address for that lookup and nothing else — no cookie, no identifier, no page.

If you decline, neither receives anything about your visit. We do not authorize providers to use information for their own unrelated purposes.

The site may link to websites operated by other organizations. Their privacy practices are their responsibility.

Your information

If you want to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, contact us. Applicable privacy rights may vary depending on where you live.

To withdraw analytics consent, use Cookie settings at the foot of any page.

Changes

We may update this policy as Kill Dull and the services we use change. The current version will always be published here.
